The brass frame “Navy Type” revolvers are identified with the Confederate manufacturers Griswold & Gunnison, and Leech & Rigdon. Brass was used for the frames because of the scarcity of iron in the United States. They were modeled after the Colt® Navys and feature a blued 7 1/2” octagon barrel. This 6 shot single action revolver was one of the most widely used. Originally offered in .36 Caliber this replica is offered in .44.
